Prerequisite: Having a valid AWS Account (Follow the step in this link to create an AWS Account) How to Sign Up for a new Amazon Web Services Account
Open the page: https://aws.amazon.com/account/
Click on Sign In
Select Root user / Enter your Root User email address / Click Next
Enter your Root user password / Click Sign In
You are now connected to your AWS Console
Select Security credentials under your root account
Click on Assign MFA (multi-factor authentication)
Enter a Device Name / Click on Next
Click on Show QR code
Scan the QR code and add it on your Authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, or Authy app) on your mobile device or computer
Enter two distinct MFA Code and click on Add MFA
MFA was successfully assigned to your root account; you will now have an extra authentication layer when you will use the root account to sign into your AWS console
Log out and log in again to the AWS console to test the application of MFA
Select Root user and enter your root user email address / Click on Next
Enter your password and click on Sign in
Enter the MFA code currently showing in your Authenticator App / click Submit
Confirm you have now access to your AWS Console with your root user
